Meet the team

Dr Oertel sees patients at both Rush Hill and Weston sites.
After completing medical school in Berlin, Germany, he came to the UK in 1994.

After years of hospital work in medicine and oncology, Dr Oertel changed to General Practice and joined the Rush Hill & Weston Surgery in 2004.

He has been a partner since March 2006 and is enthusiastic about most aspects of primary care. Dr Oertel’s special interests are chest medicine and oncology. He has been a GP trainer since 2008.

Dr Oertel is the surgery CQC Registered Manager.

Dr Jacobs is originally from the Liverpool area, and completed her initial medical training there.

Dr Jacobs is primarily based at Rush Hill.

When not busy at work, Dr Jacobs spends her time trying to tire our her young children and energetic dog!

Dr Fountain sees patients at both Rush Hill and Weston sites.
Dr Fountain went to medical school at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London.

He graduated in 1994. Then came to Bath in 1995 and decided to stay!

He enjoys being a GP for the variety it offers and getting to know people.

His main hobbies and interests are Hill Walking, Sport, Cooking, Gardening including his child and wife free allotment!

Clinical Director, Minerva Primary Care Network

After finishing his GP training in 2003, Sam joined Combe Down Surgery in Bath as a partner and has been there for the last 16 years. His clinical interests include GP training, respiratory disease and dermatology.

Sam, who’s the proud father to two teenagers, enjoys playing the drums, loves running, and volunteers at the National Children's Music Camps most years.

Clinically, Sam is based with Combe Down Surgery, where he is a GP partner.  Sam works closely with all the Minerva practices is his role as Clinical Director for Minerva Primary Care Network.

Jenny is the practice lead on infection control, Cardiovascular disease, Learning Disability and is also primary care network lead nurse. Jenny Primarily works at Rush Hill

Maddie works mainly at Weston, and runs a specialist diabetic clinic at Rush Hill on a Wednesday.

Maddie also offers the full range of treatment room services, health checks and reviews of patients with asthma, COPD and diabetes. She is our Diabetic Lead.

Sue primarily works at Rush Hill.

Sue also offers the full range of treatment room services, health checks and reviews of patients with asthma and COPD.
